Our Organization

In order to solve the various problems Amhara youth have been facing in the past, an association needs to be developed and coordinated. This association needs to strengthen the Amhara youth-the next generation in all ways. It is only appropriate for the youth to exercise their right to organise a civic association, to build their capacity for cooperation and coordination, and to gather in a youth association that is directly involved and decisive in its own affairs. At the same time, actions must be taken to bring about positive change for the youth and the community. Due to the lack of opportunities for Amhara youth to organize outside of government-sponsored associations, most Amhara youth have been barred from secular associations for years; from participating in their own affairs, from making decisions on youth issues, from using their abilities and skills to benefit their own people, and from participating in free associations. As a result of these lost opportunities, many Amhara youth have been forced to give up on their dreams and hopes. This is one of the main causes of extreme poverty. There is no doubt that it is important to establish an association of young Amhara people who are morally built, free from harmful traditional practices and addictions, who have the ability to develop their capacity in knowledge, and who understand the problems in-depth to be part of the solution. Therefore, we have formed this association so that the youth of Amhara can come together and contribute to the effort to solve the many problems that have befallen them.
